Non-vegetarian Food will be Available in the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train
Passengers were only allowed to eat vegetarian food on this train, which started on January 17. Most people in states like West Bengal and Assam prefer to eat non-veg. As a result, passengers were struggling to eat. The issue has also sparked political debate. Considering the passenger response and regional culture, the railways has decided to change the menu.
In addition, on February 1, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav also said that passengers on the Vande Bharat sleeper train will soon be offered an option between vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options. Passengers can choose between a veg or non-veg option when booking their tickets. The non-vegetarian menu will include chicken, fish and eggs.
As per the new arrangement, passengers will be given the option of paneer masala in vegetarian food and chicken in non-vegetarian food. This food will be prepared in Bengali or Assamese flavours. The rest of the menu on the plate will remain the same, which will include Jeera corn Pulao, Tehar Paratha, mixed dal, Assamese-style beans and Rasgola for dessert.
