WhatsApp is now preparing to make the profile experience of iPhone users more personal. The messaging app is working on a new feature called profile cover photo.This feature will allow users to make their WhatsApp profiles more stylish like Facebook or LinkedIn.
According to the latest report, this new option has been spotted in the iOS beta version of WhatsApp, which is currently available on Apple’s TestFlight platform.This feature has already been spotted in Android betas, which clearly indicates that the company is planning to bring it to all users.
Profile Cover Photo Feature
This profile cover photo feature is said to be very easy to use. Your WhatsApp profile will have a special space above your current profile photo, through which you can add a cover photo.
Users can choose a photo from their phone’s gallery, click a new photo on the spot, or even change the cover photo whenever they want. Once set, this cover photo will be visible when others view your profile and when you go to your profile settings.
Inspired by WhatsApp Business
This profile cover photo feature is already available for WhatsApp Business users. Business accounts have long been showcasing their brand identity through cover photos. Now WhatsApp has decided that regular users should also have the same customization freedom to make their profiles more attractive.
This feature is currently in iOS beta, so its rollout date for all users is unknown. WhatsApp usually rolls out new features gradually, so some users may have to wait a little longer.
