Under this, Wi-Fi hotspots called Public Data Offices (PDOs) have been set up, which shopkeepers, tea shops, grocery stores or other small businesses can set up in their areas and provide internet services.There is no need to pay any license or registration fees under this scheme, which is a great opportunity for small business owners.
How to Earn Through PM-WANI Scheme?
Through the PM-WANI scheme, you can earn money by using your leftover internet data or Wi-Fi service.
- Become a Public Data Office (PDO): You can set up a Wi-Fi hotspot in your shop, home or any other suitable place. For this, you will need to register with a Public Data Office Aggregator (PDOA). The PDOA will provide you with the necessary equipment and software.
- Internet Sales and Earnings: Customers will buy internet from your hotspot through the PM-WANI app. You can earn up to 80% of the total amount from the internet sold through your hotspot, depending on your agreement with PDOA.
- Cheap Data Plans: Under PM-WANI, customers can buy cheap data plans starting from just Rs 6 and going up to Rs 99. For example, Rs 99 offers 100 GB data for 30 days. This will attract customers and increase your revenue.
How to Join?
- Registration: Contact PDOA through the official website of PM-WANI (pmwani.gov.in). You can register as a PDO by filling an enquiry form.
- Equipment: A Wi-Fi router, internet bandwidth (from BSNL, Jio, Airtel etc.) and power connection are required.
- App: Customers can download the Data PM-WANI app and connect to a nearby hotspot to access the internet.
