Taking another step forward in the Digital India campaign, the Government of India has launched the ‘Mera Ration 2.0’ mobile application. Through this app, ration card holders can use their mobile phones as ration cards and avail many benefits.
As a part of the “One Nation, One Ration Card” scheme, this app aims to bring transparency and convenience in the field of food security. This will enable ration card holders to get their food grains through the Public Distribution System (PDS) from anywhere in the country.

- Digital Ration Card: You can download your digital ration card through this app.This will eliminate the fear of losing the card.
- Get the Nearby Ration Shop Information: You can get a list of government ration shops in your area and directions to them through this app.
- Transaction Details: You can see the complete details of which shop, when and how much ration was taken in this app. This will bring transparency in the distribution system.
- Personal Information Update: If your address has changed or you want to add or delete the name of any family member, then you can do it through this app.
- Aadhaar Linking: You can also check whether your Aadhaar is linked with your ration card or not through this app.
How to Download this App?
You can easily download this app from the Google Play Store on your Android smartphone. After downloading, you will have to register by entering your Aadhaar number.
It is hoped that the use of this app will reduce the need to stand in long lines for ration or repeatedly visit government offices.
