TATA IPL 2025: BCCI Suspends IPL as India-Pakistan Tensions Escalate

India-Pakistan political relations have reached an all-time low. The armies of both countries have clashed, and the BCCI has suspended the IPL in view of the heightened threat. Currently, the IPL tournament has been stopped in the middle, but people still do not know for how long the IPL has been stopped, when it will start again and will there be any change in the venue of the IPL? How Long IPL will Suspended?

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued an official statement saying that the IPL tournament has now been suspended for a week. Let us tell you that a total of 57 matches have been completed so far, the Delhi Capitals vs Punjab Kings match held in Dharamshala was also cancelled due to security reasons.

When will the IPL Resume?

BCCI has informed that the tournament has been postponed for a week with immediate effect. This does not mean that the remaining matches will start after a week. It is being speculated that the remaining matches of the IPL can be held after the India-England Test series. However, there is no confirmation of this yet. It is possible to hold the remaining matches of the IPL during the Bangladesh tour or the Asia Cup.

Will the Remaining Matches be Held Only in India?

IPL chairman Arun Singh Dhumal recently said that it is not right to host the matches in the current situation. He said that the BCCI is fully with the Government of India and the Indian Army and the board is not focusing on any other issue at the moment. Let us remind you that in 2021, during the Corona pandemic, the remaining matches of the IPL were held in the UAE. There is a possibility that a similar decision could be taken in the 2025 IPL as well.

Where did the India-Pakistan Conflict Begin?

On April 22, a terrorist attack took place in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in which a total of 26 people, including 25 tourists, were shot dead. After the attack, there was anger across the country and demands for revenge from Pakistan as the attack was masterminded from Pakistan. Subsequently, under Operation Sindoor, on May 7, India destroyed nine terrorist camps in Pakistan, from where they were plotting to spread terrorism in India. After this, Pakistani soldiers attacked India with the help of drones, to which the Indian army gave a befitting reply and shot them down. Now, in such a tense situation, the BCCI does not want the IPL to continue.
