Google officially confirmed in thrusday i.e august 13 that is bringing its new screen-free fitness wearable Fitbit Air fitness tracker to India in October 2026, giving users a different take on wearable health tracking. Unlike a smartwatch or traditional fitness band, Fitbit Air has no screen. Instead, it quietly collects health and activity data while users view their information through the Google Health app. It costs around $99.99 in the US and is scheduled to launch in India this October for roughly ₹13,999 to ₹15,990.
What is Google’s Fitbit Air track?
The Google Fitbit Air is a lightweight, screenless fitness and health tracker designed for continuous, 24/7 wear. The tracker supports 24/7 heart-rate monitoring, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, SpO2, sleep stages and sleep duration. It can also track steps, distance, calories and Active Zone Minutes. Google says Fitbit Air can monitor heart rhythm while users are resting or sleeping and look for signs associated with atrial fibrillation. The wearable tracker also integrates with the Google Health app and uses Gemini AI to offer personalized fitness insights, workout recommendations and sleep guidance. Some coaching features require a Google Health Premium membership. Priced around $99, it functions as a minimalist alternative to traditional smartwatches and competes directly with screen-free bands like Whoop, offering passive health monitoring without the distraction of notifications or a display screen.

Fitbit Air has No Screen
The Google Fitbit Air is purposefully designed with no screen or physical buttons, functioning as a lightweight “anti-smartwatch” that tracks your health 24/7 without notification distractions. It designed to be worn continuously without the distractions of a display. It weighs about 5.2 grams without the band and uses a textile band with a stainless-steel buckle while its main housing/tracker body is molded from a blend of recycled polycarbonate and PBT plastics. The device packs an optical heart-rate monitor, a three-axis accelerometer and gyroscope, red and infrared sensors for SpO2 tracking, a temperature sensor and a vibration motor.
Up to Seven Days Battery
Fitbit Air can store up to seven days of detailed motion data, with heart-rate readings recorded at two-second intervals. A full charge taking about 90 minutes. Google also says five minutes of charging can provide up to a day’s battery life.
Android, iPhone Support
The Google Fitbit Air provides comprehensive, cross-platform support for both Android and iPhone devices. Because the tracker itself does not have a screen, your smartphone acts as the primary hub to view all of your metrics, change settings, and track your data. Fitbit Air supports Android 11.0 or higher and iOS 16.4 or higher, with Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity and a syncing range of up to 30 feet.
App & Account Setup
- The Companion App: Instead of the legacy Fitbit app, the tracker requires the newer Google Health app on both iOS and Android platforms.
- Account Required: You must log in using a standard Google Account to set up and manage the device.
- Connectivity: It syncs wirelessly over Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) with a stable range of up to 30 feet.
