How to Reset or Recover Gmail Password?

Method 1
Reset Gmail Password without Old Password
If you still have access to your Gmail account but can’t remember your current password, then don’t worry. You can change or reset your Gmail password without needing your old password.
- Open your Gmail account.
- Go to account picture.
- Select “Manage your Google Account” option on top and open it.
- From above sliding option, go to the ” Security Tab.”
- Under “How you sign in to Google,” tap on “Password.”
- Enter your screen lock, fingerprint, or current password to verify and password page will open. Here, you can change your password without old one.
- Just simply enter your new password, then rewrite again below to confirm it.
- Then, click on the ” Change Password” button below to change it.
Method 2
Recover Gmail Password Using Chrome Settings
- Open Google Chrome.
- Tap on three vertical dots “Menu” icon present on top right corner of the screen, a drop-down menu will open.
- From Menu, select the option “Settings”, and settings page will open.
- Then, go to the “Password Manager” option, tap to open it. Here, you will be able to see all your saved password.
- Scroll down, when you find your gmail account, click on it. Open it.
- Below the password option you will see some dots. Right side of password option you will see an eye icon, tap on it to reveal your password which will first appear in the form of dots.
- You will be asked your system password for verification purposes. Now you will be able to see your Gmail password.
Note: If, password was never saved, this method won’t work.
Method 3
Recover Gmail Password Using Google Account Recovery
- Go to the Google’s official Account Recovery Page.
- Type your full Gmail address and click on “Next”.
- Enter the last password you can remember, or click Try another way if you do not know it.
- Approve the notification sent to your phone or enter the verification code sent to your phone/recovery email.
- Type and confirm a new, secure password that you have not used before on this account, then select “Save password.”
Important
- Use a familiar device, tablet, or computer and the same web browser you normally use to log in.
- Stay on a familiar Wi-Fi network or location where you frequently accessed the account.
- Answer every prompt if possible; if you are unsure of an answer, give your best guess rather than skipping.
