After the heartbreaking incident of the Ahmedabad plane crash, restrictions have been imposed on courier parcels. It has been banned from carrying any liquid, powder and electronic items on flights. Such courier parcels will not be accepted by any type of air courier.
Shri Mahavir Express Services Private Limited has issued a written order to its offices across the country regarding this. The order has mentioned that one should be careful while booking. Strict instructions have been issued to all the airports in the country in this regard. If any such item is brought without any information, it will be held at the airport, which will not be refunded. Other companies, including Mahavir Courier, are now taking strict precautions regarding this order.
It is believed that air courier companies may now post a written warning in their offices regarding this. In that case, such goods may be booked for transportation by road. Therefore, Korean companies have requested customers not to send any such goods by air courier anymore. If a person is traveling by air, their baggage is strictly checked. If any such items are found, they are confiscated.
Passengers are now being questioned about such items and in some cases, passengers are being prevented from boarding flights. This includes items such as alcoholic beverages, perfumes, medicines, cosmetics, battery cells, electronic items in hand luggage, etc. However, these are being accepted on a limited basis. Dry ice (limited quantities) can be carried by the Airport Authority. Apart from this, compressed gas, wet battery cells, mercury-containing devices are not allowed.
